Snake Attack

Image
Henry Fuseli - The Shepherd's Dream I was staying at a family member's house. I was in a dark bedroom that looked an awful lot like my own. The main thing different is that instead of my bedside table there was a table with a tank with an animal in it. The animal, of course, was a snake. I must say that I'm not fond of snakes. I probably fear them a little. But when I've had to deal with them I've been just fine. Anyway, as I looked closer at the tank, I saw that the snake was looking back at me. I didn't like the way it was looking at me. Not because it was a snake, but because it seemed to be examining me a little too closely. The dream faded. The next time I looked at the tank there were two creatures in there. The snake had been joined by a big lizard of some sort. They were both looking at me strangely. Then each creature nodded its head at me. The lizard then stood on its hind legs while the snake slithered up the length of the lizard towards

Waking Up At Work

Vincent van Gogh - The Starry Night I remember waking up and listening to the noisy sounds of work around me. I could hear loud machines and the sounds of people. It wasn't unusual. I was used to it. When I opened my eyes and looked around me I saw a high ceiling. my bed was in the back corner of the shop. Yes, I said shop. When I looked around I saw a big room with lots of huge machines with people operating them. There was a maze of metal bars and other material stacked up all over waiting to be worked with. This is what life was like. This was my only home. I looked down beside my bed and saw my dog lying there on the floor sleeping as close as she could get. Just where she should be. She's a good dog. As I started to wake up a little more I began to realize that something wasn't right. I wasn't supposed to be here. I wasn't supposed to be living in a place of work. Nobody was. I began to suspect that this was really just an unpleasant dream, even

Squirrel Boy

Henry Fuseli - The Nightmare I must have been thinking about my nephew recently. Actually I know I was because he is the subject of my most recent strange dream. Before I tell you about it I want to say that it's going to be a hard one because I only remember it in bits and pieces. But I'll do my best. I remember being in my backyard watching a remarkable amount of squirrels. There were just so many. My backyard this time wasn't a backyard I have in the real world, but it was mine in the dream. The squirrels are another thing. I consider myself to be somewhat of an expert on squirrel behavior. My other blog shows that a little bit. Today in the dream there seemed to be all the major variety of tree squirrels on the ground and in the trees right there in my yard with me. There were also very many of them. Maybe a hundred or more. Plenty of squirrels for me to watch and describe to any who would listen. They were running up and down the trees and around on the grou

The Angry Raccoon

Thomas Moran - Woodland Interior With Rocky Stream Many years ago now I encountered a group of raccoons in the forest. At first when they came running towards me I thought maybe I was in a bit of danger. When they got closer I realized they were young ones just looking for someone to comfort them. It's always been one of my most memorable animal encounters. I haven't had any bad thoughts about that until this recent dream I'm about to tell you. I dreamed I was walking along a forest road. On the left was a steep hill. And on the right was a much easier downward slope that lead to a river that paralleled the road. It all looked rather nice to a nature lover like me. As I looked into the forest to the right I noticed a lone raccoon pacing me. It kept looking my way and acted as if it was following me for some reason. I remembered that I had my camera with me. I should since I always carry it when I'm in the forest. So as soon as the raccoon moved into a bit of
